Hank Pym and his good (sometimes) robotic grandchildren
And his human/tiger hybrid (?) son (???)
Man comic families are weird….
She’s tried every teleportation spell she knows and then some, but those Soul Eater rejects they’ve leashed won’t let her cast a thing. Even if she weren’t manacled like Hannibal fucking Lecter, her Witch Arm is useless in the metal sleeve they’ve stuck it in. A sterile empty room and a vacant chair across from her, all she can really do is sit and wait.
This must be the part where they interrogate her. That’s how the movies go, right? But she doesn’t have any clever one-liners or the mobility required to pull a Basic Instinct. Not that it would help. She wanted Arcade dead and now she’s got it — along with what will probably be a few consecutive life sentences for premeditated homicide.
And now the electric door’s sliding open and someone’s coming in, but she doesn’t want to look up. Some pissed off S.H.I.E.L.D. agent she can take, but not visitation. What if it’s Karolina? Or Molly? Or —
“ Victor? ”
He thought that things could maybe go back to normal for his friends. That the horror they endured was over and that they’d have some semblance of their old lives. The last thing he expected while at Pym’s lab in Washington was getting a call from S.H.I.E.L.D. A call that disclosed details of things he’d never thought he’d hear about any of his friends.
They knew he had a past relationship with Nico, they knew he was an Avenger, they thought somehow all of this made it ok for him to ask her questions from pre-approved list and give a recording from his head as possible evidence. He accepted all their terms but as much as he hated being used like this… It meant seeing her.
He took a breath and stepped inside the bleak room.
"Hello Nico. I’ts…"
He took a seat across from her, his face a mix of worry, disappointment and uncertainty.
"I’m glad you’re safe. I have a few questions I’ve been requested to ask."
You are going to eventually reach maturity, are you not?
"I’ll get onto downloading that software right away."
“ Yeah. Just a bit. ”
He sighed and left the room only to come back in his regular clothes a minute later.
"The cape was dumb anyways."
Having set his internal alarm to the right time Victor got off the bed without waking up Andi and headed for the kitchen. They had quite the night and Victor smiled fondly recalling it all. The sound of eggs cracking and sizzling on the frying pan filled the quiet room. She was still asleep, probably way more tired than he was.
There was that smile again. He hummed to himself as he kept cooking until he heard the approaching footsteps. He didn’t look back as he attentively kept cooking.
"Morning, hope you’re hungry. Huevos rancheros is on the menu.”
